Welcome to the home of the Lloyd Memorial High School Marching Band, Erlanger, KY.
This accomplished marching band has made a mark for themselves among Kentucky high school marching bands, placing fourth in Class AA State Finals competition this past season at the KMEA State Marching Band Competition.
Marching season begins in early June when the members, including instrumental and color guard members, begin learning and practicing their demanding show. Members give up much of their summer vacation to prepare for the upcoming season. They endure grueling twelve hour days marching on unforgiving blacktop in 100 degree + temperatures just for the chance to compete with Kentucky’s best marching bands. Competitions run throughout the summer with the season wrapping up in mid-October with Regionals Competition and finally the much-anticipated State Marching Band Competition. The marching band can also be seen at home football games throughout the season.
Bolstered by the Lloyd Memorial Band Boosters, proud parents, and devoted Lloyd alumni, and lead by new director, Andy Shears, this talented band continues to prove why they are a force to be reckoned with.
When marching season ends, Winterguard begins. Winterguard competitions showcase the auxiliary members of the show. Flags, rifles, and sabres are showcased and dance is emphasized at the competitions that run from February-April. For more information on Winterguard events, including when you can see Lloyd's 2007 Scholastic A Class Winterguard champions, see the TriState Circuit for the Pageantry Arts website at www.tristatecircuit.com.
Looking for great entertainment by some of the hardest-working kids you will ever see? Look no further! The Lloyd Memorial High School Marching Band has more pride, spirit, talent, and drive than you will find anywhere. GO JUGGS!
